Books I read during summer holidays

During the summer holidays, I visited our local library a lot and borrowed books and read the them. I decided to mention the name of any book that I read or have read here and write a little about them:

-Rowdy revolutions: A book about revolutions in the world specially the french revolution.

-The incredible incas: This book is about the aztec empire and the incan people and their life

-The woeful second world war: About WWII and stories of normal people living in towns at war.

-The frightful first world war: About the soldiers and battles in the first world war.

-The measly middle ages: About the middle ages and the problems people suffered from.

-Freaky peaks: This book was about peaks and mountaineers.

Our story-writing project with the 4th years

Last week some of the 4th year students who are writing a book that is gonna be on the bookshops the next weeks came to our English class to work with us on a story-writing project. First they explained how to write a good story and then gave us 4 titles that we had to choose one for our story. They were:

_ Blood on my fingers
_ Behind the curtains
_ It's been a long time coming
_ Warmth of the sun

I chose "warmth of the sun" and started writing my story. It is a good experience and It's not bad for the first time I think.

Warmth of the sun

It was a hot, sunny day at the local market. Children were running along the street, beside people's small shops. I was walking beside the shops looking at the things in the shelves. Suddenly I saw a small carpet with a young girl sitting on it and selling some small cups and marbles. She was very dirty and her dress was old and ripped. I felt sorry for her. Why can't she run along the streets like the other kids? I had to help her in some way. I stood beside her stuff and looked at the cups.
"Can I help you, Sir?" She nicely asked.
"I'm looking for a spoons, do you sell them here?"
She thought about it for a second and then answered:
"Sorry Sir, I don't sell spoons"
I wanted to buy her something off so I asked her.
"I much does that cup there cost?"
" 60 cents Sir." She answered.
"That's very cheap, I take 5 of those." I said
"That's 3 Euros, sir"
I gave her 20 Euros and when she was looking for my change I ran away as fast as I could. After I reached the next street I thinking about her that I suddenly heard someone saying:
"Sir, wait you forgot your change"
It was the girl.
"You forgot your 17 Euros change." She said
I was surprised and told her:
"Whats your name kid?"
"Anna" She answered.
"I don't need the 17 Euro but you do Anna. Where are your parents?" I said
"They are in the heaven I think. I've never seen them." She answered sadly.
We both forgot about the change now and were chatting in the middle of the street.
" I am very rich Anna. I can adopt you. You will have a great life."
" She looked at me for a moment" and then said:
"Could you actually do that?"
"Of course I could. My wife will be very happy to. You will love her." I said.
She gave me a big hug and then we went to her shop to collect everything that was there and then I bought her new clothes and then we went to my house.
I enrolled her in a private school. She can now learn how to write and read.

I think she is now feeling very happy and enjoys her life, for her, I was the warmth from the sun.

THE END

A letter from an Irish young girl

Yesterday my Dad brought in a letter from a young Irish girl who picked Iran as her Geography project. Her name is Sarah; I think she wrote the letter from her school, Cannistown National school co. Meath. I was pretty surprised by that and was keen on reading the letter. She has also a very good hand-writing. She wanted to get information about Iran. My Dad said that maybe I could write back. Apart from giving her enough information, this could improve my English writing skills as well.

My first New year's eve in Dublin

I was looking forward to see the New year's eve fireworks here in Dublin and since I've seen this festival in Bishkek and Vienna before, I expected a nice program for the New year's eve in Dublin.

When we asked some of our friends where is the best place for watching the fireworks they said they don't go out to see the fireworks because unfortunately there isn't any big fireworks in Dublin at all!! But in Vienna and even in Bishkek the new year's eve fireworks program was famous and everyone would go to at least see it. There were a were a very few places where they celebrated the coming of 2015 but since we watched it live in TV, it wasn't really good. The people were unlucky too. At the night the weather was very windy and cloudy so the fireworks were not visible. So it could be the weather's fault too!

The other cities in the world celebrated the new year very good, since I've watched the top 10 on TV, I think Honk Kong was the best and London was also astonishing. I hope that Dublin would also celebrate the next new year (2016) so we can see it then.
