Books I read during summer holidays

During the summer holidays, I visited our local library a lot and borrowed books and read the them. I decided to mention the name of any book that I read or have read here and write a little about them:

-Rowdy revolutions: A book about revolutions in the world specially the french revolution.

-The incredible incas: This book is about the aztec empire and the incan people and their life

-The woeful second world war: About WWII and stories of normal people living in towns at war.

-The frightful first world war: About the soldiers and battles in the first world war.

-The measly middle ages: About the middle ages and the problems people suffered from.

-Freaky peaks: This book was about peaks and mountaineers.

Our story-writing project with the 4th years

Last week some of the 4th year students who are writing a book that is gonna be on the bookshops the next weeks came to our English class to work with us on a story-writing project. First they explained how to write a good story and then gave us 4 titles that we had to choose one for our story. They were:

_ Blood on my fingers
_ Behind the curtains
_ It's been a long time coming
_ Warmth of the sun

I chose "warmth of the sun" and started writing my story. It is a good experience and It's not bad for the first time I think.

Warmth of the sun

It was a hot, sunny day at the local market. Children were running along the street, beside people's small shops. I was walking beside the shops looking at the things in the shelves. Suddenly I saw a small carpet with a young girl sitting on it and selling some small cups and marbles. She was very dirty and her dress was old and ripped. I felt sorry for her. Why can't she run along the streets like the other kids? I had to help her in some way. I stood beside her stuff and looked at the cups.
"Can I help you, Sir?" She nicely asked.
"I'm looking for a spoons, do you sell them here?"
She thought about it for a second and then answered:
"Sorry Sir, I don't sell spoons"
I wanted to buy her something off so I asked her.
"I much does that cup there cost?"
" 60 cents Sir." She answered.
"That's very cheap, I take 5 of those." I said
"That's 3 Euros, sir"
I gave her 20 Euros and when she was looking for my change I ran away as fast as I could. After I reached the next street I thinking about her that I suddenly heard someone saying:
"Sir, wait you forgot your change"
It was the girl.
"You forgot your 17 Euros change." She said
I was surprised and told her:
"Whats your name kid?"
"Anna" She answered.
"I don't need the 17 Euro but you do Anna. Where are your parents?" I said
"They are in the heaven I think. I've never seen them." She answered sadly.
We both forgot about the change now and were chatting in the middle of the street.
" I am very rich Anna. I can adopt you. You will have a great life."
" She looked at me for a moment" and then said:
"Could you actually do that?"
"Of course I could. My wife will be very happy to. You will love her." I said.
She gave me a big hug and then we went to her shop to collect everything that was there and then I bought her new clothes and then we went to my house.
I enrolled her in a private school. She can now learn how to write and read.

I think she is now feeling very happy and enjoys her life, for her, I was the warmth from the sun.

THE END

A letter from an Irish young girl

Yesterday my Dad brought in a letter from a young Irish girl who picked Iran as her Geography project. Her name is Sarah; I think she wrote the letter from her school, Cannistown National school co. Meath. I was pretty surprised by that and was keen on reading the letter. She has also a very good hand-writing. She wanted to get information about Iran. My Dad said that maybe I could write back. Apart from giving her enough information, this could improve my English writing skills as well.

My first New year's eve in Dublin

I was looking forward to see the New year's eve fireworks here in Dublin and since I've seen this festival in Bishkek and Vienna before, I expected a nice program for the New year's eve in Dublin.

When we asked some of our friends where is the best place for watching the fireworks they said they don't go out to see the fireworks because unfortunately there isn't any big fireworks in Dublin at all!! But in Vienna and even in Bishkek the new year's eve fireworks program was famous and everyone would go to at least see it. There were a were a very few places where they celebrated the coming of 2015 but since we watched it live in TV, it wasn't really good. The people were unlucky too. At the night the weather was very windy and cloudy so the fireworks were not visible. So it could be the weather's fault too!

The other cities in the world celebrated the new year very good, since I've watched the top 10 on TV, I think Honk Kong was the best and London was also astonishing. I hope that Dublin would also celebrate the next new year (2016) so we can see it then.

Some ball games we play here in Dublin

There is a big Soccer field in front of our home and we spend our leisure time playing soccer there with our neighbours: Ali, Kai, Cameron, Une, David, Daniel, Ben and ... In Iran we played just football matches even when  there are a few people. But here in Dublin, we play other games related to football with each other. I explain two of the games as follows:

1) Heads and Volleys
The game is actually easy and fun. You have to either score a Header or a Volley so that the keeper can't collect it and if he does, you will go in (the goal). That means one player crosses the ball into the box where the players use the chance and score. If you score by shooting a ball low, you will go in the goal. This also happens if the Ball goes out and you miss. If the keeper concedes 5 goals or more, (here comes the funny thing!!) you have to turn around and show your butt!! Then every other player has to shoot the ball into the poor keeper's butt!! It's really hard to hit it exactly!

2) Five in in
We played this game in Iran but the Irish version is a bit different. At first, someone will go in the goal and the other players have to score goals but they can't pass the ball and have to be aware of others catching the ball and scoring. The one who scores 5 goals will go in (the goal) and this is where the odd name of the game comes from. 5 (goals) in (will go) in (the goal)
Playing these games are really fun and our neighbours and I would go out and play more if the weather wouldn't be rainy and wet...

The Christmas holidays so far

The Thursday just past was the last day of school in 2014! It was also the last day of school before Christmas holidays. Today is the 4th day of our Christmas holidays and of course I'm enjoying it so far. I had planned to go to the Library everyday of the Holidays but unfortunately the weather is too cold and windy and (I rarely make it to wake up at 8 o clock in the morning!!). Instead (sometimes) I help my Mom cleaning the house or taking care of my brother.
There is one week and 5 days left so I have loads of time to have fun (and help my parents in boring stuff!!) I will plan to do something useful in my free time so at the end of the Holidays I can say that I used my time in a good way.

My Exams at School

During the year, I have 2 main exams: Christmas exams and Summer exams.
The reports are very important and will go into the main report at the end of the school year. The Christmas exams are even more important. They are the main part of the final report. Unfortunately, my Christmas exams begin in a week. I've missed a lot and I have to study harder in order to get high marks in the exams. It's also harder for me because I don't have any experiences in the exams and don't know a lot about the questions coming up in the exams. The next Friday, I have 2 hard exams: History and Geography.
These two subjects are my favorite subjects in the school but the point is, We are learning about the History and Geography of Ireland and not the rest of the world. Anyway, I hope that I will do well in the exams.
But the good thing is, after the last exam, I have two more than two weeks holiday and I could enjoy my free time.

How I'm doing in the school

I am settling well in the school and I've made some smart and nice friends so far. My classes are all good and English is my favorite class. I also like History and I'm doing very well in the exams, even though I am learning the lessons in the language that isn't my mother tongue. I'm now getting better marks than a half of our class that are all Irish. I've done 3 History exams so far and have got three 100%s in a row and one 97%. That's pretty good I think.
I am now doing German as my second language in the school. I'm better than everyone else in the class of course, but I've noticed that I've got a lot of regression in German. I have really forgotten a lot of things in German. Unfortunately if you don't revise or use a language in a long time like I did, you will forget even basic stuff. I hope that by writing in my German Blog, I would improve my German again.
I will choose Art and maybe Technichal Graphics as my options, I like Art and our Art teacher says that I'm talented in drawing.
This was a short summery about how I'm doing in the school and subjects. Next week our Christmas exams begin. They are quite difficult and even trickier for me, since I've missed two months and the exams are in english.

My new essay at school (Animals)

We are reading a good and interesting book (Wonder by R.J. Palacio) the topic we just read was about which animal has some skills that humans could use to have a better life. For example: Owls are wise.

I was thinking about that a lot and finally I found out that eagles have a lot of good things. When an eagle flies in the sky above the earth, first plans to hunt something (We humans should firstly have plan for everything), secondly looks exactly and notices every little move (We must wait and see all the opportunities), then attacks like a thunder and doesn't let the animal to defend or run away (This is when we humans must use our opportunities and not waste them), finally when the eagle hunts, brings the meat to it's nest and feed's the chicks (We could teach others what we learned and can do). I think eagles are famous and strong because of these specialities and the strong eyes they have. If everyone performs like an eagle in the different chances, All of us would reach our goals and be satisfied.

my new blog

I've opened this Blog in order to improve my writing skills.

One idea is to summarized what I write in my Persian blog here as well as in my German blog. I can also drop my essay writings in English class here.

Cheers!
